What are you going to do with the last 5, 10 or 15 years of your life? You barely blinked, and suddenly you’re a senior citizen. But haven’t you heard: 70 is the new 50.
In the mid-1950s, a little old lady moved into her son’s family home. She was tiny, gray-haired, bespectacled and a bit bow-legged. To her three, and later four grandchildren, she was ancient. She was 69.
At that age, Canadian athlete Ed Whitlock ran a marathon in under three hours. Grandma Moses didn’t begin painting until she was 76 and unable to embroider any longer because of arthritis. Senator John Glenn went into space for 11 days at age 77. Susan B. Anthony founded the International Woman Suffrage Alliance when she was in her 80’s. Allan Johnson was still an active calf-roper on the National Senior Pro Rodeo Association circuit while in his 80’s, despite numerous broken bones over the years.
So get off your couch or from behind your desk or from in front of your laptop, iPad or smartphone. Cribbage and euchre and poker and Scrabble and mah-jongg and dominoes and Monopoly and gin rummy are all fun and have their place in the world, especially on rainy days. But we challenge you to go outside and live your life. Get out of your comfort zone and breathe in fresh air. Travel!
We can take you on a delightful, memorable tour of San Francisco, down the awesome California coast, through the world-famous Silicon Valley and/or on the hike of a lifetime through Yosemite National Park or to many other exciting places. We want your business, but we’re not the only option for filling your remaining years with incredible experiences. Get out there! You’re only as young as you feel and as you do. If you can still move, do it! Start planning »
