Private Half Dome Hike Yosemite

Choose the correct Yosemite expert to match your physical abilities on a private Yosemite hike.

You don’t need to be young or athletic or a daredevil to fly across the country and explore California for a week or 10 days. In April of 2023, we’ve booked two female cousins in their 70’s on an incredible adventure they’ll never forget. Meeting in Chicago, they’ll fly to Los Angeles and, 10 days later, from San Francisco back to Chicago. The older cousin will then fly on to Cleveland.

On their incredible trek that begins in L.A., they’ll join a few other relatives on a vintage V.W. van caravan retreat up the coast of California. We welcome family reunions, corporate retreats, trade groups, club members and others on this amazing adventure up the Pacific Coast Highway. Think stunning views, quirky towns and cliffside restaurants. Don’t forget Hearst Castle in San Simeon, the picturesque Carmel-by-the-Sea or the wonderful Monterey Aquarium. If you go far enough north, you can drive through—yes, actually drive through—the 315-foot Chandelier (sequoia) Tree, with a diameter of 21 feet.

Our senior ladies will divert from their northern route as our private guide leads them into Yosemite National Park for three days and two nights. Our valiant adventuresses have opted to stay in unheated tent cabins in Curry Village. Though there’s still a chance of snow in April, we supply warm sleeping bags, so the ladies needn’t worry they’ll be cold. We know our senior travelers may have hip, knee or other physical issues, so we haven’t planned 10-mile hikes. As always, we’ll gear our activities to their capabilities. Though this won’t be the case, they could stand in one spot in Yosemite for two days and still enjoy a wonderful experience.

Curry Village Tent Cabins

The Curry Village tent cabins are available for those who wish for a more rustic Yosemite experience.

From Yosemite, we’ll drive the ladies in comfort to San Francisco, where they’ll stay for two nights, enjoying our unique city tours during the days. They’ve expressed an interest in architecture, so we’ll be showing them the famous Painted Ladies and a number of historical buildings one day, and the next day we’ll visit Chinatown, the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf and other popular sites. A cable-car ride also could be on the agenda.

Don’t miss out on a great tour just because you have a few years on you. We customize everything for our client’s abilities and speak on the phone with each guest. Give us a call.
