We have been in the American tour industry for our entire adult lives. First, by working for large, global companies who used California as a small portion of their tour business, riding in luxury buses across the United States and Canada. And then going private ourselves, using our experience to begin our own small tour company in San Francisco to compete against the big guys.
One thing we’ve learned over the years? Most international visitors aren’t just coming to visit California. Many times, they’re piecing together multi-state or multi-city itineraries—oftentimes planned online with luxury travel agents or, now, with AI. And while technology can help to narrow down your plans, we are learning that its travel expertise will never replace boots-on-the-ground California knowledge.
Examples are the many things you learn only by doing—the ebb and flow of the Yosemite summer crowds, the timing of when and how to visit Yosemite vs. a road trip along the coastline; the best secret spots between San Francisco and L.A., such as the hidden shipwrecks, beaches and the interesting stories involved—and knowing when to reserve a private guide for help and when you can do things on your own.

Experience the best sights of Napa Valley and Sonoma.
Take a typical itinerary: San Francisco → Yosemite → Big Sur → San Francisco. Beautiful, but only if it’s arranged correctly, with the nuances of your free time important to attaining that classic California feeling. One wrong hotel location or forgetting to blend your itinerary correctly can affect your experience, causing you to miss out on great sights you never knew you missed — all because you reserved with a luxury travel agent or AI who has never done it themselves, only quoted the itinerary to you in a convincing way. Has AI ever hiked to the top of Yosemite’s Half Dome?
That’s why when you call for a Luxury California Tour, we ask about your big picture: When you arrive. When you depart. Where else are you looking to visit? What do you hope to see? What piques your interest about California? Because more often than not, we can spot an innocent scheduling mistake that could be improved, fixing it before you find yourself disappointed.
Luxury travel is so much more than Google. It’s about speaking and planning these itineraries with experts, ones who can handle everything, so all you need to do is fly into SFO and we do the rest.
